Using the tool
You may use WiFi Heatmapper for free for personal, non-commercial use, without an account. Commercial use, such as surveying Wi-Fi for clients or as part of paid work, needs Pro. During an announced early access period, Pro (commercial use included) is free until the stated end date and then locks again; your projects and readings stay yours.
Buying Pro
Pro is sold by Polar (polar.sh) as the merchant of record: you pay Polar, and the receipt and invoice come from them. The price is shown before you pay; in the EU, VAT is added at checkout.
Pro is a one-time payment, not a subscription, and includes all future updates. A licence is for one person or one company and works on 2 devices at a time; each browser counts as one. You can move it: remove Pro from a device under Help > Licence, or free all devices with a link sent by email (twice in 30 days). The app checks the licence online from time to time; in between, Pro keeps working offline for at least 30 days.
Within 14 days of buying, you get a full refund without giving a reason: write to hello@wifiheatmapper.com or reply to your licence email. After a refund or a chargeback, the licence stops working. A key shared publicly, or beyond your company, can be cancelled.
Your data and your plans
Your floor plans, readings and exports belong to you. They are stored in your browser, not on a server, so keep your own copies of anything important: clearing the browser's data removes them. Only upload plans you are allowed to use. How the site handles personal data is explained in the privacy policy.
Results are estimates
Heatmaps show the signal between readings as an estimate, predicted coverage is a model (typically within 8 to 10 dB), and link speeds are what the Wi-Fi adapter reports, not internet speed. Readings depend on the device, its antenna and how it is held. Check important results on site before you rely on them, for example before buying equipment or reporting to a client.
The helper app
The helper app is offered for macOS and Windows to read the live signal on your own computer. It is not signed with a paid developer certificate, so your system may warn about it; download it only from wifiheatmapper.com and check it against the published checksums. You use it at your own responsibility.
No warranty
The site, the app and the helper are provided "as is", without warranty that they are error-free, always available or fit for a particular purpose. Features may change or be removed. To the extent the law allows, the provider is not liable for indirect or consequential damage, lost data or lost profit from using them. This does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for intent or gross negligence, or your rights as a consumer.
Fair use
Do not misuse the site: no attempts to break or overload it, no automated submissions to its forms, and no use that breaks the law.
Other products
The guides mention other products and their prices for comparison. Their names are trademarks of their owners, WiFi Heatmapper is not affiliated with them, and their prices and features can change after the date a guide was checked.
Changes
If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live. The terms may be updated; the current version and its date are always on this page.
